Let's just say that ...

Let's just say that calling this place a boutique hotel is generous. Elsewhere in the country a similar hotel would be branded as something better than a Ramada but worse than a Holiday Inn Express, but hey, this is the Bay Area, so it's $250 a night. At least the location is reasonably convenient. The hotel has decent beds and fairly new carpeting, but everything else about the rooms and the space is deeply mediocre. Paint is scuffed, rooms don't have a mini fridge, the bed is on the small side, and the TV is quite small. Wifi works pretty well, though. Breakfast is very marginally better than what you might get at a Days Inn. But at least the boutique hotel designation means their provided toiletries are rather nice.

Nice hotel, clean, well-kept ...

Not terrible, but a ...

Not terrible, but a LOT of minor irritations. Try to check in: they can't make a keycard for person in front of me, so I come back later Come back later - no one at front desk. Eventually shows up (was in the bathroom, but didn't put out any "back soon" sign.) Can't get AC/heater in room to work, try calling front desk, go down and find 2 people who say they've been waiting for 10 minutes, no one there, I give up Carpet is stained Lose my glasses, and while looking for them find an empty beer bottle and a hat Find front desk person, they tell me to ignore the signs in the room telling me how to use the AC (this does indeed fix it.) No breakfast (Expedia says they have packaged breakfast; sign in lobby says they serve breakfast.) No room cleaning service in 3 days (guess this is COVID related, but most hotels will say something.). Try to drop by front desk to get shampoo and coffee, but no one is there (but at least there's a "be back soon" sign, so that's progress...
