Shoreline Park in Mountain View

Nestled in the bayside landscape of Mountain View, California, Shoreline Park is a 750 acre, multi-purpose recreational area with rolling grassy hills, saltwater lake, paved creek side trails, restaurant, wildlife and habitat areas, special event facilities and a golf course. The park offers the community a place to gather, explore nature, and enjoy outdoor activities, such as walking, biking, wind surfing, sailing, jogging and bird watching.

Rengstorff House Tour

Mountain View's oldest home, The Rengstorff House, is one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture in California. Fully restored in 19991 the Rengstorff House is a 3,955 square-foot house featuring 12 spacious rooms adorned with ornate brass chandeliers, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper, push-button light switches and lavish Eastlake furniture. Volunteer led tours are offered to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. Tours typically last 30 minutes, but can be tailored to meet schedule and interests.

Stevens Creek Trail

Twisting along the shoreline of Stevens Creek, this multi-use trail provides users stunning views of the Mountain View area. Wrangling through tidal marshes, woodlands and city parks, from Shoreline to Yuba Drive, Stevens Creek Trail brings offers residents the ideal setting for jogging, biking, dog walking, and bird watching.


  • Special Events (Rengstorff House)

    On days the house is not open for tours, the Rengstorff House is available to rent for events, banquets, meetings and social gatherings. The home has been recently updated to offer wireless internet access, allowing for business meetings and presentations with ease.
  • What wildlife can I expect to see?

    Filled with woodlands and tidal marsh, Shoreline Park is ideal to explore acres and acres of wildlife and distinct types of birds. Providing an estuary environment, visitors are sure to enjoy observing ad identifying bird species, including endangered pelicans, egrets, herons, wrens and the protected Burrowing Owl.
